Burning Man 2019 starts next weekend in the Black Rock Desert. Retail stores around Northern Nevada are getting ready for the 60,000 people planning to attend.

"Burning Man is the best business for us," said Holly Spahr, a Costumer at Junkee Clothing Exchange. "It's our Christmas."

If Burning Man is like their Christmas, then the store's 'Secret Gold Room' is its 'Santa's Workshop.'

"They know about the secret room," laughed Spahr. "It's not a secret. We want everyone to know."

Junkee has been getting ready for Burning Man for weeks now. Inside, you will find 'some playa supplies' including masks, costumes, hats, uniforms, goggles and more. Starting this weekend, the store expects to see international customers headed to Northern Nevada for the burn.

"They do," said Spahr. "They come from all over the world and they need their Junkee Fix."

Meanwhile at MYNT Cannabis in Downtown Reno, the store has high standards for its product because they know national and international customers will sample Nevada's marijuana product.

"Nationally, it's going to be California," said Cayden Martilla, Inventory Supervisor at MYNT. "Internationally, the largest chunk is Canadians. Canadians have fantastic cannabis. Californians have fantastic cannabis so these people are coming with standards."

The store has stockpiles of cannabis ready for people who come to the area for Burning Man. While marijuana is not legal on the playa, store owners are hoping to win over customers who will be in the area before and after the event.

Martilla says an event this size takes months of planning.

"About two months in advance, we make a lot of really large orders to our fantastic local distributors," said Martilla.
