Monday is the first day of the fall semester for most schools in the Washoe County School District.

Students at Incline schools and Dodson Elementary School will start classes on August 26th.

Three new schools have been added to the district -- Desert Skies Middle School, Sky Ranch Middle School and Nick Poulakidas Elementary School.

"All of us at WCSD have worked hard over the summer to prepare our schools for our students' return to classes," said Interim Superintendent Dr. Kristen McNeill. "Every year begins with new promise for academic success, and I am confident this year will be no different. We are dedicated to ensuring that all of our students receive the supports and resources they need to learn and grow, and we are excited to welcome everyone back for another great year."

Construction was completed over the summer for the three new schools. District Capital Projects staff members performed $15 million in repairs and renovations at a number of schools.
