Aces Release


The Aces seven-game win streak came to an end Wednesday night at Greater Nevada Field. The Iowa Cubs defeated Reno by a score of 7-4. Iowa jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the top of the third inning and never looked back. Reno chipped away with two in the bottom of the third, one in the sixth and one in the seventh. However, Iowa added two in the top of the seventh and blanked Reno the rest of the way. Newcomer Max Murphy went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in his first Triple-A action. Reno starter Taylor Widener was chased with two outs in the third inning after allowing five runs on six hits. Domingo Leyba went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs. The Aces will look for the series victory tomorrow night against the I-Cubs with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
