UPDATE: The Carson City Sheriff's Office (CCSO) has released new details on a car fire that happened on Wednesday near Brown Street off of Highway 50.

They said the initial call came in as an explosion, but it doesn't appear to be an explosion at this time.

CCSO says there were no reported injuries.

They said there have been several fires reported but they aren't sure if they are related.

They said there's an estimated $55,000 in damages and the damage was limited to four vehicles, shrubs and trees.

CCSO says they are asking for witnesses who were in the area of East Highway 50 near College Parkway around 4 a.m., to contact them.

They said there's no suspect information at this time.


Original Story: The Carson City Sheriff's Office says it is investigating an arson that burned four cars at an apartment complex early Wednesday morning.

Just before 4 a.m., deputies say the 911 Communications Center got a call that an explosion was heard and a car was on fire, spreading quickly to several other cars, on Brown Street off of Highway 50.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Carson City Sheriff's Office says there's no suspect information at this time.

Carson City Fire Department is helping with the investigation.
