Our CBS affiliate 3TV in Phoenix, Arizona, reports one person was injured after a plane crashed in north Phoenix on Tuesday.

They said it happened near 31st Avenue and Deer Valley Road around 3 p.m.

3TV reports the 50-year-old pilot was taken to the hospital with second and third degree burns. They said he's in critical condition at this time.

3TV reports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) says the plane crashed under unknown circumstances.

They said the FAA and NTSB will investigate the incident.

According to the FAA registry, the plane was a single-engine Mooney M20 registered to an owner who lived in Incline Village in Nevada.
