Board of Regents Approve University of Nevada's Gateway Project
The Board of Regents for the Nevada System of Higher Education approved the development on Friday.
The Gateway Project at the south end of the University of Nevada has been approved.
The Board of Regents for the Nevada System of Higher Education approved the development on Friday which includes a new business building, a new life sciences building and a new parking garage between 9th and 8th Streets in Reno.
UNR President Marc Johnson says the buildings will incorporate designs from the historic homes they will be replacing.
“We will certainly be working with our architects to identify ways to remember the history of the Gateway.”
At the meeting, the Board of Regents also announced its working on a contract with NV Energy to have university buildings be powered by 100% renewable energy.
