Stormy weather continues through Friday morning with mountain snow showers and valley rain along with colder temperatures and gusty winds.

A winter storm warning is up for the western slopes of the Sierra until Friday morning with up to a foot of snow above 8,000 feet and chain controls will be likely along our mountain passes on and off through Friday morning, and again by Sunday night into Monday morning, avoid travel if possible.

A portion of I-80 was temporarily closed earlier in the day due to multiple crashes near Nyack.

A wind advisory is up for areas around Austin and Ely with 30-50mph winds, and our winds will be gusty for all of us the next few days.

Yet another storm is on the way by Sunday into Monday and again on Tuesday of next week. Check www.nvroads.com for the latest Sierra road conditions.
