Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation is celebrating a $28,369 grant awarded to Reno Fire Department to fund the purchase of a 15-lead monitor/defibrillator. 

The 15-lead monitor will improve Reno Fire Department's medical response capabilities for individuals suffering from Acute Coronary Syndrome.

The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation is a non-profit organization that was created in 2005 by the founders of Firehouse subs. The non-profit has since granted more than $42 million to hometown heroes in 49 states as well as Puerto Rico and Canada. It has donated $476,000 to local life-savers in Nevada alone. 

Firehouse Subs joined the Reno-Sparks area last year, opening on December 31, 2018. The location of the restaurant is 593 East Prater Way.
