The Reno Fire Department extinguished a fire that sparked at an apartment complex in North Reno early Monday morning.

Fire crews went to the Green Pines Apartments on Carville Drive around 1:10 a.m., after receiving a report of a fire from a resident.

Officials say when they arrived on scene there were flames and smoke inside the office building.

Bob Leighton, the division chief of RFD said they were able to knock the fire down, but they had to cut hoes in the roof to gain access to different hot spots.

The building was empty at the time of the fire, and there were no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
