The Nevada softball team was picked to finish in sixth place in the Mountain West as voted upon by the league's coaches. The Pack finished fifth in league play for both the 2017 and 2018 season.

With a total of 64 points and eight first place votes reigning MW Champion, Boise State, was chosen to win the conference. Following the Broncos is Fresno State who received 57 points and one first place votes. San Jose State (50) beat out UNLV (35) for third place, while San Diego State (31) edged out Nevada (29), Colorado State (26), Utah State (21) and New Mexico (9) rounded out the field is this season's preseason poll.

The Pack's 2019 campaign begins on Feb. 9 when the team travels west to compete in the NorCal Kickoff, a split hosted tournament with UC Davis and Sacramento State.
