Sparks Fire said on Wednesday that a citation was issued after a wildfire broke out near Rio Alayne Court on Sunday afternoon.

Officials say the 25-acre Rio Alayne Fire was human-caused. They say it started accidentally in the backyard of a home, but they're still investigating exactly how it started.

The blaze damaged fences on three different properties along with a few power lines.

There were no injuries reported. Sparks Fire wants to remind the public that with the low humidity, there is still high fire danger.

Multiple agencies assisted, including TMFPD and Reno Fire. Both air and ground crews were provided to help fight the blaze from spreading.

Sparks Fire received a call to an active brush fire in the Village Hills Development area in Sparks Sunday afternoon.

Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and Reno Fire provided support to Sparks Fire. Both air and ground crews worked to contain the fire, before it could reach homes in the area.
