The Reno City Council unanimously approved an ordinance to address street racing in the Biggest Little City.

Along with more clearly defining street racing, it also imposes stiffer penalties for people who participate in street racing - including higher fines.

Street racing is very dangerous. We've essentially assembled a de factor task force. We've conducted several operations within the last several months where we've deployed resources to address street racing behavior in our community,” says Reno Police Lt. Scott Dugan.

Police are also working with businesses to discourage people from holding races on their properties after-hours.
