Nevada senior defensive end Korey Rush has been named to the Ted Hendricks Award watch list ahead of the 2018 season.

The award honors the top defensive end in college football each year. The award is named after Ted Hendricks, the first ever three-time first-team All-American. Apart from performance on the field, criteria also includes leadership, community involvement and academics. Rush is one of three Mountain West players to be named to the list and one of just 36 total.

Rush saw an increase in his production in 2017, setting a single-season career-high with 39 tackles on the year. His 9.0 tackles for loss ranked third on the team and totaled 36 yards. Twice last season he produced a career-high seven tackles in a game and recorded at least one tackle in all 12 games. Additionally he registered 2.5 sacks on the year that went for 22 yards.

The winner of the award will be announced by the Ted Hendricks Foundation on Dec. 12 after a series of selection committee votes beginning in late November.
