Gov't Shutdown Sparks Concern for Palomino Valley Wild Horses
One government agency affected by the current federal shutdown is the Bureau of Land Management.
One of the properties that the BLM is in charge of is the wild horse holding facility in Palomino Valley.
We have received numerous calls about the well being of several of the horses there.
We took a trip up there on Wednesday night. An official who was not able to speak on camera assures us there are still workers there who are caring for the horses.
Horse advocates, however, tell us they are concerned that not enough is being done - and that one of the horses may be sick and is not being treated.
We are working to find out the exact situation at the holding center and will be sure to let you know when we learn more.
