After record setting precipitation, our latest storm will begin to move out of the region today. Verdi picked up 5.50" of rain since Wednesday with almost 2" on the west side of Reno and 3-4" of rain around Tahoe, and 3+ feet of snow in the Sierra.
Dress warmly, it's going to be a very cold day with gusty north winds 15-30mph. Look for a few morning showers, with skies starting to clear out by this afternoon and evening and a cold night ahead.
Chain controls along I-80 and our Sierra passes should be lifted by this afternoon, with good travel conditions through the weekend.
A cold start to Saturday morning with lows in the teens and 20s, followed by sunshine and highs in the low 50s with light winds.
Clouds increase again on Sunday with a chance for a few showers on Monday into early next week.
Good travel weather for Thanksgiving, but we could see another wet storm heading our way by Thanksgiving weekend. Dress warmly today and have a great weekend!
