A high wind warning for our valleys and winter storm warning for the Sierra goes up for the area today.
A winter storm moves into the region by this afternoon with 1-2' of snow in the Sierra tonight into Friday morning making travel difficult. Travel early today to beat the storm.
Our valleys will see very strong winds picking up this morning and peaking by the afternoon with 50-70mph gusts possible in the wind prone areas. Mostly cloudy skies with highs in the mid 50s and few scattered afternoon showers.
Snow levels drop to valley floors by Friday morning with light accumulations possible making for a slick commute. Travel conditions improve by Saturday.
Partly cloudy and colder for this weekend with another chance for rain and snow late Sunday into Monday with chain controls possible in the Sierra. Have a great day.
