With the tough economy, you may be putting off getting your pet spayed or neutered. But now there's a chance to do it at a discount.

The Nevada Humane Society is offering a low cost clinic for both cats and dogs.

For cats, you can get them fixed for $25; regular clinics would run you more than $100.

Representatives say this is a critical time to spay or neuter. "We're going into kitten season. We're seeing more cats into heat, mating and breeding. We really don't need any more kittens...hard to find a home for them right now," says Bonney Brown.

Spaying and neutering dogs will cost under $100, but staffers say that's still about a $200 savings than other places.

For more information visit the Nevada Humane Society at 2825 Longley Lane in Reno or call them at 775-856-2000.
