A high speed chase that started in Churchill County early Thursday morning ended with a crash on I-80 near the Sparks Boulevard exit.

It all started when a Churchill County deputy identified the car was stolen.

State troopers took over the chase at I-80 at Vista. They say the driver, a 17-year-old, was going almost 100 miles per hour with his headlights off.

At one point the vehicle crossed the median, hit a semi truck and rolled several times.

Both the driver and passenger were thrown from the car. The teen suffered a collapsed lung and other injuries.

The passenger's condition is unknown.
