University of Nevada senior Mitchell Van Patten has earned three All-American honors, two from the National Rifle Association and the third was by  the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association.

The Wolf Pack senior was a first-team selection by the NRA in smallbore and air rifle.  He was named to the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association combined guns first team. 

On Friday he placed 14th at the NCAA Championships in smallbore shooting a 580.  It was his first appearance at the NCAA Championships.

At the NCAA Qualifier Van Patten shot a 586 to earn a spot in the NCAA field, two points off his career high of 588 that he posted at the OSU Buckeye Invite on Nov. 12, 2016.  At the Patriot Rifle Conference Championships this season he placed third in the smallbore and won the air rifle title.
