Several area government offices will be closed Monday in observance of Veterans Day. 

The City of Reno administrative offices at Reno City Hall (1 East First Street) will be closed on Monday, November 12, 2018 in observance of Veterans Day.

The Reno Municipal Court (1 South Sierra Street) will also be closed on November 12.

All City of Reno recreation facilities are closed on November 12. For more information about recreation facilities, call 775-334-2262.

The Reno Police Department (RPD) front lobby (455 E. Second St.) will be closed on November 12 as well. RPD would like to advise the public of these holiday and weekend reporting options:

• For all emergencies requiring police, fire or medical response, call or text to 9-1-1.

• For non-emergency assistance from Dispatch, call 775-334-COPS (2677).

• Visit and click on "File a Report" to submit an online report.

As a reminder, the City of Reno Veterans Day Parade will take place Sunday, November 11, 2018, at 11:11 a.m., rain or shine.


In observance of Veterans Day, Sparks city offices will be closed on Monday, November 12, 2018.

The following county offices will be open:

The Office of the County Clerk at the Washoe County Complex will remain open throughout the holiday from 8 a.m. to midnight for the issuance of marriage licenses, fictitious firm names and notary bond filings, as well as property tax payments for the Treasurer’s Office.


Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) will be closed Sunday, Nov. 11 and Monday, Nov. 12 in observance of the holiday. All sites will reopen Tuesday, Nov. 13. 


The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County is honoring Veterans with free rides on all RTC transit services for everyone on Veterans Day, November 11, 2018. 

“The RTC holds Veterans and their families in the highest regard,” said RTC Executive Director Lee Gibson. “Offering free transit services on Veterans Day is our way of thanking and honoring those who have served and made sacrifices for our freedom.”

RTC RIDE will operate on a Sunday schedule on November 11. On Monday, November 12, the observed Veterans Day holiday, RTC transit will operate on a regular schedule. RTC REGIONAL CONNECTOR will also operate on a regular schedule on Monday. To plan your trip, visit
