The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in Winnemucca says seasonal fire restrictions will be lifted starting Friday.

The restrictions have been in place since August 1.

Federal and state land managers are still strongly encouraging recreationists to carry a shovel, one to five gallons of water and a fire extinguisher on them when building campfires.

“We’re asking that people remain cautious with campfires and when driving in Nevada’s backcountry,” says Brad Milam, Fire Mitigation Specialist for the Winnemucca District.

All areas, roads and trails on the BLM Winnemucca District will see fire restrictions lifted.
