The Reno Police Department says the pedestrian from the crash that happened on South Meadows Parkway received minor injuries, and is expected to be treated and released from the hospital.

The Reno Fire Department says a man was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries after he was struck by a car on Wednesday night.

The crash happened westbound on South Meadows Parkway on the east side of Double R Boulevard across from Smith's Food and Drug.

The victim was walking across the road, not in a crosswalk, when he was hit by a sedan. He was conscious and alert when he was taken to the hospital.

The driver is cooperating with authorities and they said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.

One lane westbound is open on South Meadows Parkway, but the other should reopen soon.
