The City of Reno recognized Megan Rachow as its most recent Citizen Recognition Program recipient during its meeting on Wednesday.

In December 2008, Rachow joined the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Nevada as an Assistant United States Attorney, where she has prosecuted cases involving virtually all types of federal crime.

In 2015, Rachow was appointed to lead the Project Safe Neighborhoods program initiative for the Reno Branch of the USAO. She specializes in prosecuting crimes involving illegal firearms, arson, gangs and other violent crimes.

The City of Reno will recognize a City Superhero each quarter at a regular Reno City Council meeting.

Visit Reno.gov/Superheroes for more information about the past honorees and the program. Nominations can be submitted online.
