Downed Power Lines Spark Brush Fire

Reno Fire Battalion Chief Mark Bohach says a blown transformer caused a power outage early Tuesday morning.
Reno Police asked drivers to avoid 2nd Street from Kietzke Lane east of the freeway due to a downed power line. They say emergency personnel blocked the area for safety.
Officials say a transformer blew shortly before 6 a.m. Power lines dropped to the ground causing a small brush fire in the car lot nearby.
According to NV Energy's Outage Center, estimated time of restoration is 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Fire officials say the weather may have played a part in the incident.
