Storey County authorities say a small brush fire that broke out late Thursday night east of Sparks was human-caused.

The fire, less than two acres in size, started by 10 p.m. on the south side of the river on the Storey County side between Vista and Lockwood near I-80.

The county says there are homeless camps in that area, but it's not clear if that's where the fire started.

Union Pacific Railroad traffic was temporarily stopped so that fire crews could contain the fire.

No structures were threatened.
