The Lassen Municipal Utility District says crews will be working in coordination with fire officials Monday to begin restoring power to Spaulding, Bucks Bay, Stones and all other customers at the north end of Eagle Lake.

LMUS says the process will take 6-8 hours to restore power to all customers. Power is being restored in small sections to reduce strain on the generator.

The Whaleback Fire is now 100% contained at 18,703 acres. The Lassen County Sheriff's Office says the evacuation order for Spalding was lifted on Sunday.

They say only residents will be allowed in and they must show proof of residency. The A1 Road is closed through the fire area, so residents can access Spalding from 139 to Eagle Lake Road.

Also, Eagle's Nest residents can access their cabins via road 231. The Forest Service recreation facilities along the south shore of Eagle Lake are still closed.

Crews expect to have this fire contained by Wednesday, August  8th.

The cause of this fire remains unknown.
