The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating after a driver hit several vehicles while going the wrong way on I-80 near Keystone Avenue Thursday morning.

NHP says several calls came in around 2:45 a.m. regarding a van that was going westbound in the eastbound lanes near Keystone Avenue.

They say a trooper monitoring construction on the interstate witnessed the ordeal and attempted to stop the driver. During the pursuit, the driver clipped the patrol car. At one point the driver jumped the median and crashed on the Robb Drive exit.

Troopers say 24-year-old Chancellor James Nigri was arrested for driving the wrong way and suspicion of a DUI.

They say it was also later determined that the van had struck another car while going the wrong-way, causing minor damage to that car.
