CHP: Arrest Made, Victim Identified in Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 50
California Highway Patrol says a man has been arrested after the fatal hit-and-run that killed a 33-year-old South Lake Tahoe man on Highway 50 on Tuesday.
California Highway Patrol says a man has been arrested after the fatal hit-and-run that killed a 33-year-old South Lake Tahoe man Trevor M. Bright on Highway 50 on Tuesday.
CHP says Joseph Matthew Chesler, 33, was arrested Friday around 5 p.m. CHP responded to the South Lake Tahoe Police Department office and contacted Chesler. He was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run related to Tuesday's vehicles vs. bicycle collision.
Chesler was brooked at the El Dorado County Jail.
CHP says the bicyclist, Bright, was riding south across the eastbound lanes of the highway when the Chesler hit Bright, just west of the upper Truckee River. They say the incident happened in a construction zone.
