The Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) reports that they are investigating a single vehicle crash that happened early on Monday morning near Red Rock.

The said a maroon 2005 Volvo was traveling northbound on US-395, south of the Red Rock Road off ramp, when they started driving on the outside shoulder of the highway.

NHP reported that the driver hit a reflective highway marker, then steered to the left and overturned.

The driver was flown to Renown via CareFlight where they were treated for serious injuries. There were two passengers in the car that were taken to the same hospital by ambulance, also with serious injuries.

All three were wearing seat belts, although NHP believes impairment might have been involved in the crash.

The roads going northbound were closed for an hour as traffic was diverted onto Stead Boulevard. They were reopened around 4:45 a.m.

Anyone who was a witness to the accident is encouraged to contact Trooper Keith Killian of the NHP Multi-Disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team at (775) 687-9631.
