UPDATE: The Washoe County District Attorney's Office reports they sentenced Mario Lemus to 105 years in prison for child sexual assault and lewdness charges.

He must serve 105 years in prison before eligibility for parole begins.

The Washoe County District Attorney's Office has released new information on a case of the sexual assault of a child.

Monday night, Mario Lemus, 44, was convicted of three counts of sexual assault of a child under 14 years of age and one count of lewdness with a child under 14 years of age.

The case began in July of 2016 when the Sparks Police Department responded to a call at Saint Mary's Hospital on the report of sexual assault against a 13 year old girl.

The victim said that she had been raped by a male relative and was taken to the hospital after expressing concerns about possibly being pregnant.

An investigation with the Washoe County Child Advocacy Center determined that she had been sexually assaulted since she was 7 or 8 years old by Lemus.

Lemus fled the country but was arrested in California when he tried to return to the United States in March of 2017.

Lemus will be sentenced on July 30 where he faces multiple terms of life in prison.
