Residents near Winnemucca might have had a surprising view of the weather on Tuesday.

A funnel cloud was reported over that area around 1:30 p.m.

KTVN Meteorologist Angela Schilling says scattered showers and thunderstorms are popping up anywhere from the Sierra to the Reno area to Lovelock and Winnemucca. Some lightning, heavy rain, and small hail is possible with any storms that do develop. Also, a cold air funnel or two is possible with this setup, most of the time they are weak, but it is still something to watch out for.

It's the second reported funnel cloud this week, another funnel cloud was reported over Virginia City on Monday afternoon.
