Chow Down For Caps And Gowns To Benefit High School Seniors

Posted: Updated:

The Chow Down for Caps and Gowns fundraiser is happening on Tuesday at various restaurants in Reno.

The event, put on by Communities in Schools (CIS) of Western Nevada, is in partnership with local restaurants to help at-risk high school seniors cover graduation-related costs, including college testing fees, college application fees, and cap and gown rentals.

A portion of the profits will go to dropout prevention organizations in the Washoe County School District.

Graduation costs can total over $250 per student, which can cover everything from SAT testing to clothing for job and admission interviews.

Here's a list of participating restaurants:

Brothers Barbeque, LLC
Doughboys Donuts
MOD Pizza
Nothing Bundt Cakes
The Eddy
Harrah's Steak House

The event will be going on all day.
