The season of giving isn't just in December. The 26th annual "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive took place Saturday to provide goods for the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.

"The thing about the food drive right now, is it's in the summer so we're different from the Christmas ones and we provide the food bank with three months of food," says coordinator Scott Mahe.

Participants left bags of non-perishable food items near their mailboxes, a letter carrier collects the donations and delivers them to local food banks and pantries.

Saturday's weather may have been a challenge, but Mahe says they will still be collecting items all week!

The food bank says "Stamp Out Hunger" is the largest single-day food drive in the country.
