UPDATE: The Washoe County District Attorney's Office says that have secured a sentence of 27 years in prison for a defendant who pleaded guilty to a crime that occurred in March.

They said 26-year-old Dezhon Mack of Sparks pleaded guilty to battery with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm at or into an occupied structure and felon in possession of a firearm.

The Reno Police Department says one person is in jail after shooting two people at the Alder Creek Apartments Sunday night.

At around 8:45 p.m. police responded to reports of shots fired on Nutmeg Place near Neil Road. Officers say one victim was grazed in the torso and shot in the leg. The other was shot in the leg, and the bullet actually broke his leg in the process.

Police have the suspect in custody. He is identified as 25-year-old Dezhon Mack. He is charged with attempted homicide, battery with a deadly weapon and other charges.

Medics took both victims to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Reno Police Sergeant Greg Bonnette says he estimates anywhere from 20-50 shots fired during the exchange. It began with an altercation between two men near the north side of the apartment complex by Nutmeg Place. The exchange continued through the complex towards the east side by Neil Road. Police say some apartments were hit with gunfire. No other injuries are reported.

Police found two guns on scene and found Mack in a field nearby the complex. Police say there are no threats to the public.
