The Reno City Council has unanimously approved funds to buy a playground for Barbara Bennett Park in downtown Reno.

The playground from Buell Recreation, LLC will cost nearly $65,841 and will come equally from the residential construction tax (District 5) and Parks Capital Maintenance Funds.

Council members also approved a contract for Garden Shop Nursery to install the playground equipment and surfacing at Wednesday's council meeting.

Money for the contract will also come equally from the same tax and funds and will not exceed $94,113.57.

The park is located Arlington Avenue between Island Avenue and Eloise Avenue.
