The Washoe County Sheriff's Office says two of its deputies suffered minor injuries after they were involved in a wrong-way crash late Tuesday night on north Virginia Street near Panther Drive.

Deputies say the crash happened just after 10:00 p.m. when a drunken driver was heading the wrong way on North Virginia.

Authorities say since there were many cars behind them on the road, the two deputies made the quick decision to use their patrol car as a barrier to stop the oncoming suspect car.

Both unidentified deputies suffered minor injuries.

Deputies say it's believed the suspect car was going more than 30 mph when it hit the patrol car, but an official investigation will determine an exact speed.

Authorities say the deputies had already made two previous DUI arrests before this crash. They were working on the Joining Forces DUI campaign when the incident happened.

The suspect, 32-year-old Marc Alan Taylor was arrested on DUI-related charges.

Reno Police is investigating the crash.

Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
