Man Charged With Murder After Body Found in Lake Tahoe Home
The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office has arrested and charged a 47-year-old man with murder after a suspicious death in Tahoma, California.
A Lake Tahoe man is behind bars, charged with murder, after deputies found a body in his home.
On Monday the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office released the suspect's identity: 47-year-old Jeremy Virgo.
Deputies said he's a known felon who lives on Timber Wolf Drive in Tahoma. That's where deputies responded to reports of gunshots on Sunday afternoon.
"As [the deputy] responded, he recognized the area, the house, as belonging to a known felon in the area, somebody that he knows," El Dorado County Sheriff's Office Sergeant Anthony Prencipe said. "[The deputy] backed off a little bit, and ended up seeing that same person leaving the house."
El Dorado County deputies followed Virgo, with help from Placer County. They caught up with him at Homewood Ski Resort and arrested him.
He is charged with murder.
"There's no threat to anyone in El Dorado County, Placer County, or anybody else for this situation that we have," Prencipe said. "We have it all under control."
Deputies found one body last night, but they are withholding information about the victim pending notification of the family.
