Reno police say a driver died from their injuries five days after rolling their truck into a hotel lobby Friday, February 9.

Reno police identified the driver as 52-year old James Raum of Sparks.

The Reno Fire Department responded to reports of the crash just after 6:00 p.m. on Wells Avenue near 6th Street. Firefighters say the driver was heading north off of the Wells overpass when he lost control of the vehicle, and crashed into a fire hydrant, a tree, and a light post. Crews say the truck rolled before crashing into the America's Best Travel Inn on North Wells.

Firefighters extricated the driver from the truck. REMSA transported him to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and he died February 14th. There are no other injuries.

Police say the cause of the crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Reno Police at 334-2115 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
