The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified a motorcycle rider killed in a crash on I-80.

Troopers say on February 2, they responded to a crash on I-80 westbound  near the Wells Avenue exit. They say a black Pontiac Firebird had taken the I-580 southbound exit onto westbound I-80 and attempted to make a lane change.

Troopers say the driver lost control of the vehicle and came to a stop in the far left lanes of the interstate. 36-year-old Brenden Michael Richter of Sparks was unable to avoid the Firebird and crashed into it. He was pronounced dead on scene. The driver of the Firebird is recovering from injuries at home.

If you witnessed the crash, you are asked to call Trooper Doug Hildebrand at 775-687-9617.
