Carson City Deputies Release Photo of Fraud Suspect

Posted: Updated:

The Carson City Sheriff's Office has released a photo of a man they say fraudulently solicited homeowners for tree services.

Deputies say on January 19, a man approached an elderly homeowner on Kingsley Lane in Carson City, and offered to trim trees on the property. The man promised to return with a crew and tools, and accepted payment. He never returned.

Deputies say the man identified himself as John Mark, and was with John Mark Tree Service. He is described as white, in his mid 30s, with dark hair.

Deputies say the man has also solicited construction work in Douglas County.

He was last seen driving a white Ford pickup in Douglas County where he tried to defraud an elderly couple on asphalt and deck construction. They say he may also be in the Reno/Sparks area.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Detective Sam Hatley at 775-283-7852 or Captain Brian Humphrey at 775-283-7850.

You can also call Secret Witness at 775-322-4900, or text your tip to 847411. A $500 reward is being offered and your call will remain anonymous.
