Placer County Sheriff's Office identified the skeletal remains found by hikers near Lake Clementine in January.

Deputies say hikers found the remains of 23-year-old Trang Tran of Sacramento along Foresthill Road back on January 27. Police say Tran was a Vietnamese national in the United States with a student visa.

Deputies arrested her former husband, 28-year-old Michael Forest Abeyta of Citrus Heights for her murder. Police say the Tran and Abeyta were married at the time of her death.

The investigation is ongoing. Police say no other information will be released at this time.
