Sierra Front says the 1,682-acre Cutter Fire near Leviathan Mine Road north of Topaz Lake on the east side of U.S. 395 is now 85% contained.

Sierra Front says the fire was sparked by a chainsaw that initially caught grass on fire then quickly moved to large trees.

The fire is started just after 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

The fire is burning in grass and brush.
