The first ever Bowers Mansion kids triathlon was held on Saturday.
The triathlon introduces kids into the world of triathlon races. Today's course included swimming, biking and running on a closed course within the park.
"For biking we had to go all the way back there and swimming's over there and running's all the way over there!" says Andrew Budge.
It's a great opportunity to have them out and about and to fall in love with a sport,” says Patrick O’Mara, Recreational Coordinator, Washoe County
“Yeah, the running was pretty hard... the swimming was the coolest for me. I think I did really good on the swimming,” says Noah Lear.
The event was part of the Nevada Recreation and Parks Society's 2017 triathlon series.
They'll be holding another triathlon in September at the Alf Sorensen pool in Sparks.
