Reno Police say they have arrested 11 people and issued 55 citations in connection with illegal street racing.

They say ten cars were also towed by officers for various reasons.  

Reno Police want to remind those who participate in illegal street racing that they could be arrested and charged with a felony if they elude officers and cause a crash that results in death or serious injury. Organizers and spectators of these races can also be charged and fined up to $1,000.

The Reno Police Department will continue to actively target illegal street races throughout Reno where we have received the majority of reports as well as from monitoring social media.
