Lake Tahoe's First Recreational Dispensary Serves 2,000+ Customers in First 48 Hours

Posted: Updated:

NuLeaf Tahoe says it served more than 2,000 customers in its first 48 hours of recreational marijuana sales. NuLeaf Tahoe is the first and only dispensary in Lake Tahoe.

Since they are the only recreational dispensary in all of Lake Tahoe they will not only be getting customers from all over Northern Nevada, but from California as well. It says it served approximately 42 customers per hour.

"I think people in California really want legal marijuana but they don't have a place to get it so they will definitely be coming here in Incline Village," says Sean Luse, co-owner of NuLeaf.

With all those extra customers they have to make sure they are stocked enough to handle them.

"It is going to take a lot of work, but we are on top of it and we are well stocked now," says Luse.

Even though Lake Tahoe is just around the corner it is still illegal to consume marijuana in public, such as a beach.

"The law does not allow the use of this product in public, we ask that people take a time to understand this law and comply with this law," says Bob Harmon, Public Information Officer for Washoe County Sheriff's Office.

Other laws include that you must be 21 years or older to purchase and can only carry an ounce of marijuana or an eighth of an ounce of concentrated marijuana in public or in a car.

The dispensary is located at 877 Tahoe Boulevard and is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
