Minerva Fire South of Quincy, California Now 95% Contained

The U.S. Forest Service says the 4,310-acre Minerva Fire south of Quincy, California is now 95% contained, with full containment estimated for this Saturday.

Crews will continue mop-up throughout the day. 

Structural fire engines will continue to be stationed throughout Quincy as a precautionary measure. 

Chances of afternoon and evening thunderstorms will continue through this week.

The Forest Service says about 740 personnel are working to contain the fire.

The cause remains unknown.
