The Reno Aces defeated the Oklahoma City Dodgers Friday night by a score of 2-1. Jake Buchanan got the nod for Greg Gross. The right-hander tossed seven innings of one run baseball while scattering four hits and striking out five. The Reno offense was lead by Willians Astudillo who blasted a two-run home run, his third home run of the road trip.

Jeremy Hazelbaker got the top of the second inning started with a sharp ground ball into right field. Willians Astudillo followed Hazelbaker with a towering two-run home run over the left field wall to give Reno an early two-run lead. Astudillo is batting .400 (14-for-35) over his last 10 games with three home runs and 10 runs scored.

Buchanan entered tonight's contest with just four starts in a Reno uniform. In those games, he had not gone more than 6.0 innings. Oklahoma City got into the scoring column in the bottom of the third inning. Bobby Wilson singled to leadoff the inning and Charlie Culberson drew a full-count walk to put runners on first and second with two outs. O’Koyea Dickson narrowed the Reno lead with a single on a soft ground ball just passed Christian Walker who was playing third base for just the fifth game this season.

The North Carolina State alum, rebounded after the third inning, retiring the final six batters he faced before passing the ball to reliever Louis Coleman in the eighth. Coleman recorded his second hold of the season and lowered his Reno ERA to a team-best 1.17 after striking out all four batters he faced. Vanderbilt alum Jared Miller entered the game with one out in the ninth inning and promptly retired the final two batters of the ballgame.

The win moves Reno to a record to 62-44 on the season before heading back to Greater Nevada Field tomorrow night to take on the St. Louis Cardinals top affiliate, the Memphis Redbirds.
