Sen. Heller Confirms 'Threatening Note' Found at Las Vegas Office

Posted: Updated:

Nevada Senator Dean Heller has confirmed to Channel 2 that a threatening note was left for him after someone broke into his Las Vegas office on Sunday morning.

Police declined to release the contents of the letter found near the door of Heller's office.

There were no details on what the note said.

Police said Monday patrol officers responded to the building where Heller's office is located after an alarm company reported a burglary alarm. Police say neither the building nor Heller's office was burglarized.

The case remains under investigation.

Heller is regarded the most endangered GOP incumbent senator in next year's midterm elections. He is the only one running for re-election in a state President Donald Trump lost to former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Senator Heller is also one of several Republican senators that have previously opposed the healthcare bills to replace the Affordable Care Act. On Friday Senator Heller told Channel 2 News, "conversations are continuing and I'm going to read the new bill and weigh its impact on Nevada."
