Crews Mopping Up Highland Area Brush Fire in Fernley

Crews are mopping up after a wildfire sparked east of Fernley. 

Sierra Front first reported the fire around 3:00 p.m. and said it was threatening structures. Thankfully North Lyon County  Fire, Truckee Meadows Fire, and the BLM responded quickly and efficiently. 

It burned about 3 acres but has been knocked down. Crews remain on scene mopping up. 

The fire was in the area of Highland Drive in Fernley.
