The Regional Transportation Commission says as paving continues, they may need to periodically close lanes on both roadways.

RTC says these closures may cause significant delays and for several weeks, especially during peak driving hours.

In addition to paving, crews are installing a new traffic signal at Pyramid Way and Farr Lane which is just north of McCarran.

They are asking drivers to plan ahead and want to remind everyone that businesses will remain open and accessible throughout the project.

“We are at the home stretch with this project on track to wrap up this fall, greatly improving safety at this high-crash location,” RTC Executive Director Lee Gibson said.  “We appreciate everyone’s patience as we move to complete this project ahead of schedule.”

RTC says that when the project is complete, it will add dedicated turning lanes on both McCarran and Pyramid and a new through lane in each direction on Pyramid.

Part of the project includes new landscaping, a decorative wall and a paved, multi-use path.
